UPLANDS COLLEGE CULTURAL TOUR TO EASTERN EUROPE
Uplands College went on a Cultural Tour of Contrasts to Eastern Europe in June/July 2016! Their first stop was Berlin where they enjoyed a Berlin walking tour on arrival. Other sightseeing visits in Berlin included the Berlin Wall, Potsdamer Platz, The Jewish Museum including the Holocaust Memorial as well as an interesting Graffiti Tour and Workshop! It was then on to Prague where they visited Stare Mesto / Old Town, the Museum of Communism and they also got to attend a Black Light Theatre Show and a Ghost Tour! Budapest was next on the itinerary reached by overnight train and it was a busy day visiting Heroe's Square, Vorosmarty Square, Matthias Church, Fisherman's Bastion, Margaret Island an evening cruise on the Danube ends the day. Vienna included visits to the Museum Quarter Street Art Passage, MUMOK, St Stephan's Cathedral as well as the Natural History Museum to name a few. It was then off to Munich where they spent 3 days exploring. A bike tour of the city, visits to Neue Pinakothek, Dachau Concetration Camp and Neuschwanstein Castle were included. After a wonderful tour they returned back to South Africa.
