Northwood School from Durban sent their first team and U16 team on a hockey tour to the Netherlands. They flew out with Emirates on the 26 November 2016 and returned on the 08 December 2016. The team landed in Amsterdam and headed directly to watch a Premier League match, a huge highlight for hockey enthusiasts!! They spent 4 days in Amsterdam playing various hockey clubs and had a training session with professional Dutch coaches. Sightseeing here included a Canal Cruise of the city as well as a visit to the Amsterdam Dungeon.The team also stopped over at Hockey Republic to do some shopping in the biggest hockey supply store in The Netherlands. They then moved on to Rotterdam for more fixtures and another training session with the professional Dutch coaches. Here they visited Kinderdijk, Snow Planet, did a city sightseeing tour of Dordrecht as well as Euromast! Following their 3 days in Rotterdam they moved on to The Hague. They had 1 fixture against a club in The Hague and then visited the Uithof and the Ferris Wheel in Scheveningen. Following their action packed tour they returned to the airport to fly home. They travelled with a squad of 28 boys and 4 staff members.
