Dainfern College from Johannesburg embarked on a conference tour to Tanzania with 5 of their students and 1 accompanying staff member. They spent the first 4 days at the Conference in Arusha, a beautiful city at the foot of Mt. Meru. Once they finished at the conference, the group flew from Kilimanjaro International Airport to Zanzibar for 3 days of leisure on this pristine island! They were accommodated at the Uroa Bay Beach Resort on an all inclusive basis for the duration of their stay. On the 24 February 2018 they departed the beautiful island of Zanzibar and returned to Johannesburg.
Pembroke House School from Kenya sent their U13 girls and boys Hockey Teams including their boys cricket team on a tour to South Africa in February 2018. They played matches against Bridge House School, Langa Development Teams, Reddam House Constantia Preparatory School, Herschel Girls Prepartory Schoo, Herzlia Middle School and Applewood Preparatory School. They also enjoyed sightseeing in Cape Town including visits to Table Mountain, Robben Island, Cool Runnings Toboggan Family Park, and even a surfing lesson!
Stanford Lake College, based in Limpopo, sent 8 students and 2 staff members on a conference tour to Tanzania. They began their tour in Dar es Salaam where they spent 1 night and enjoyed a city tour of the largest city in Tanzania. The group then headed to Arusha and St Constantine's School for the next 4 nights where they took part in the Round Square International Conference with schools from around the world. The tour ended in Zanzibar where the group spent 3 nights at Uroa Bay Resort. Sightseeing in Zanzibar included an evening Sunset Dhow Cruise, a full day Safari Blue Tour which included snorkelling in Menai Bay - home to humpback and bottlenose dolphins and a half day Stone Town shopping and spice tour. Despite the heat the group had an amazing time!
Sutton Valence School from the UK sent their 1st Cricket Team, U17 and U16 Netball Teams and 4 Tennis players on a tour to South Africa in February 2018. On their arrival in Cape Town they visited Table Mountain and spent the day on the Hop on Hop off Bus. They will played fixtures against the Langa Development Teams, Bridge House School, Edgemead High School, Herzlia High School and Paarl Boys' and Girls' High School. They enjoyed a night at the Buffelsfontein Game Reserve including a game drive! Other sightseeing inclded a visit to the Cheetah Sanctuary, Robben Island and a boat trip to Seal Island.
Thomas More College from Kloof travelled to Cape Town on their annual cultural tour. They travelled with 35 students and 4 staff. Whilst in Cape Town they stayed at Protea Hotel Breakwater Lodge. They visited many of Cape Town's popular tourist attractions including Robben Island, Table Mountain, Boulder's Beach, Cape Point, Kirstenbosch Gardens as well as many more!!!
