Stanford Lake College, based in Limpopo, are sending 8 students and 2 staff members on a Round Square conference tour to Canada, however they will first enjoy a pre-conference tour to the USA. The tour begins in Washington where the group spend 2 nights. Sightseeing includes a visit to The Museums of the Smithsonian Institute on the National Mall (includes Air & Space Museum and Natural History Museum) as well as free time to explore. The group then head to New York City for 4 nights. Sightseeing in the "Big Apple" includes the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park, a cruise to Liberty and Ellis Islands, a visit to the Empire State Building as well as a Broadway Show! The pre-conference tour ends off in Boston where the group spend 2 nights. In Boston they visit the Faneuil Hall Marketplace as well as the Paul Revere House and the Old South Meeting House as well as enjoy a full morning tour of Harvard University. The group then flies to Ottawa, Canada, where they partake in the Round Square Conference based at Ashbury College for 6 nights before flying back to Johannesburg.
The Ridge School and St Katherine's School from Johannesburg will depart on their Biennial music tour on the 18 September 2018. They will travel to Cape Town this year. The group consisting of 200 pax will be accommodated in the quaint town of Stellenbosch at the Protea Hotel Stellenbosch. The tour will see them playing beautiful musical concerts at local schools. They will play a total of 4 concerts while on tour. In between the concerts the schools will enjoy sightseeing in the Mother City, such as a trip up Table Mountain, a visit to the Cheetah Sanctuary, the 2 Oceans Aquarium and a wine cellar tour with lunch. All meals have been included and organised at local restaurants for the group. The Ridge School and St Katherine's School will return to Johannesburg on the 21 September 2018.
Winston Park Primary School will be sending their U13 Cricket boys, U13 Hockey and U13 Netball girls to Johannesburg in September. The team will consist of 26 players and 4 staff. They will be flying from Durban on the 17 September 2018 and returning on the 21 September 2018. They will play matches against Kyalami Preparatry School, Dainfern College, Redhill Preparatory School and Montrose Primary School. They will have some free time for some fun which includes a tour of Maropeng and Sterkfontein Caves, the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre and a fun morning at Gold Reef City with a Mine Tour.
