CBC COLLEGE BULAWAYO HOCKEY TOUR TO GAUTENG

CBC College, Bulawayo embarked on their senior hockey tour on the 24 April 2019. They travelled by bus to Johannesburg to partake in the Beaulieu College Hockey Festival. They travelled with 16 boys and 2 accompanying staff members. The team were accommodated at the Holiday Inn Express Woodmead for the duration of their stay. They enjoyed 3 full days at the festival. On the next 2 days following the festival they attended 2 high performance training sessions run by SA Hockey players. This was once again hosted at Beaulieu College. Between all the hockey the team got to enjoy the city of Johannesburg with local sightseeing. They then departed South Africa back to Bulawayo on the 01 May 2019.  

CORNWALL HILL COLLEGE NETBALL TOUR TO CAPE TOWN

Cornwall Hill College from Pretoria sent their U13A netball team on tour to Cape Town from the 14 - 18 April 2019. They travelled with 9 players and 2 accompanying staff members. The team enjoyed the wonderful city of Cape Town and visitied Table Mountain, Robben Island, The Two Oceans Aquarium and Boulders Beach. They played 4 fixtures against local schools and had a high performance training session with a Protea's Netball player, Ms. Lushinka Nash. The team then returned to Pretoria after a very sucessful tour!

DESERT GIRLS NETBALL CLUB TOUR TO SOUTH AFRICA

The Desert Girls Netball Club from Dubai sent their netball team on a tour to Cape Town, South Africa. Their exciting tour began on the 5th of April and on their arrival, they enjoyed the cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain and viewed the beautiful City of Cape Town. They stayed at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Breakwater Lodge for the duration of their tour. Fixtures were played against Somerset College, Herschel Girl's Preparatory School, Bridge House School and the Langa Township teams. Other sightseeing they enjoyed included visits to Robben Island, the Cheetah Sanctuary and Hout Bay with a cruise to Seal Island. They also had a surfing lesson and visited the Cool Runnings Toboggan Family Park for some tobbogan riding before returning home.

ST ANDREW'S COLLEGE HOCKEY TOUR TO GERMANY AND THE NETHERLANDS

St Andrew's College from Grahamstown, South Africa, sent their 1st and Development Hockey Teams on a tour to Germany and The Netherlands in April. The group began their tour in Dusseldorf, Germany, where they stayed at a local hostel for 4 nights. Here they played their first 2 matches against local teams as well as enjoyed some sightseeing which included a Rhine River cruise and a visit to Cologne where they had free time to explore the historic town.  Next they travelled to Amsterdam in The Netherlands where they spent the next two nights. Here they played another match as well as had a training session with local Dutch coaches. Sightseeing in Amsterdam included a canal cruise and a bike tour as well as free time to explore the city. The tour ended off in The Hague where the teams participated in the Easter Hockey Tournament, playing against schools from all over the world. On their last day in Europe the group got the chance to watch an EHL match before heading to the airport. The tour party consisted of 29 boys and 4 staff.

ST ANDREW'S TURI, RUGBY & NETBALL TOUR TO SOUTH AFRICA

St Andrew's Turi, based in Kenya, once again sent their prep rugby and netball teams on a 9 day tour to the Western Cape in April 2019. The tour began in Stellenbosch where they spent the first 3 nights of their tour before heading to Cape Town for their final 5 nights. All teams played a total of 4 matches against Rhenish Primary School, Sun Valley Primary, Groote Schuur Primary School and local development teams from Langa. Sightseeing in Cape Town included Table Mountain, Robben Island, tobogganing at Cool Runnings, a cruise to seal Island and a surfing lesson amongst others. The tour party consisted of 29 students and 4 staff.

ST DAVID'S MARIST INANDA, HOCKEY TOUR TO CAPE TOWN

St David's Marist Inanda, who are based in Johannesburg, sent their 1st team hockey boys on a 5 day tour to Cape Town in April 2019. They played fixtures against Paarl Boys' High School, Somerset College, Bishops Diocesan College and Paarl Gimnasium. The group also had free time for local sightseeing including a visit to the local Cheetah Sanctuary. The tour party consisted of 18 boys and 2 staff members.

STANFORD LAKE COLLEGE CONFERENCE TOUR TO THE EASTERN CAPE

Stanford Lake College, based in Limpopo, sent 5 students and 2 staff members on a conference tour to the Eastern Cape. The group flew into Port Elizabeth where they spent 2 nights at a local hotel as well as spent a full day in the Addo Elephant Park. They then headed to St Andrew's College where they were hosted for 4 nights and took part in the Round Square Africa Regional Conference. The group enjoy 1 final night in Port Elizabeth with an evening cruise on Sunday River before returning back to Johannesburg.

TRIDENT COLLEGE TOUR TO EUROPE AND THE UNITED KINGDOM

Trident College, who are based in Solwezi, Zambia, travelled to Europe and the United Kingdom on an 18 day tour in April/May 2019. Their tour focus covered alot of subjects including Business studies, Travel & Tourism, Languages, History, English and Careers. The tour began in Barcelona, Spain where they spent 6 nights at a local hostel. The group visited the European School of Business as well as visited La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park and enjoyed a city tour visiting the main sites such as the Gothic Quarter, La Boqueria and Place de la Catalunya amongst others. They then departed for Brussels where they spent the night and enjoyed a city tour. Their next stop was Ypres in Belgium where they had a full day tour including visits to the Flanders Field Museum, the Tyne Cot Cemetery and the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 amongst others. The groups last stop in Europe was The Netherlands where they spent 2 nights in the bustling city of Amsterdam and visited 2 of the local universities as well as had free time to explore. They then caught a ferry to Harwich in England before transferring to Cranbrook where they spent 2 nights at the Swattenden Adventure Centre. Their final stop was London where they spent the last 2 nights of the tour. Apart from visiting UCL (University College London) and LSE (London School of Economics) they also enjoyed visiting the main sights such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. The tour party consisted of 25 students and 3 staff.
