The Desert Girls Netball Club from Dubai are sending their netball team on a tour to Cape Town, South Africa. Their exciting tour begins on the 5th of April and on their arrival, they will enjoy the cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain and view the beautiful City of Cape Town. They will stay at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Breakwater Lodge for the duration of their tour. Fixtures will be played against Somerset College, Herschel Girl's Preparatory School, Bridge House School and the Langa Township teams. Other sightseeing they will enjoy includes visits to Robben Island, the Cheetah Sanctuary and Hout Bay with a cruise to Seal Island. They will also have a surfing lesson and visit the Cool Runnings Toboggan Family Park for some tobbogan riding before returning home.
St Andrew's College from Grahamstown, South Africa, are sending their 1st and Development Hockey Teams on a tour to Germany and The Netherlands in April. The group begin their tour in Dusseldorf, Germany, where they stay at a local hostel for 4 nights. Here they play their first 2 matches against local teams as well as enjoy some sightseeing which includes a Rhine River cruise and a visit to Cologne where they have free time to explore the historic town. The group will also have the opportunity to watch a Bundesliga Hockey match. Next they travel to Amsterdam in The Netherlands where they spend the next two nights. Here they play another match as well as have a training session with local Dutch coaches. Sightseeing in Amsterdam includes a visit to Snow Planet, a canal cruise and a bike tour as well as free time to explore the city. The tour ends off in The Hague where the teams participate in the Easter Hockey Tournament, playing against schools from all over the world. On their last day in Europe the group will get to watch an EHL match before heading to the airport. The tour party consists of 30 boys and 4 staff.
St Andrew's Turi who are based in Kenya, are sending their prep rugby and netball teams on a 9 day tour to the Western Cape in April 2019. The tour begins in Stellenbosch where they spend the first 3 nights of their tour before heading to Cape Town for their final 5 nights. All teams play a total of 4 matches against Rhenish Primary School, Sun Valley Primary, Groote Schuur Primary School and local development teams from Langa. Sightseeing in Cape Town includes Table Mountain, Robben Island, tobogganing at Cool Runnings, a cruise to seal Island and a surfing lesson amongst others. The tour party consists of 29 students and 4 staff.
St David's Marist Inanda, who are based in Johannesburg, are sending their 1st team hockey boys on a 5 day tour to Cape Town in April 2019. They play fixtures against Paarl Boys' High School, Somerset College, Bishops Diocesan College and Paarl Gimnasium. The group will also have free time for local sightseeing including a visit to the local Cheetah Sanctuary. The tour party consists of 18 boys and 2 staff members.
Trident College, who are based in Solwezi, Zambia, are travelling to Europe and the United Kingdom on an 18 day tour in April/May 2019. Their tour focus covers alot of subjects including Business studies, Travel & Tourism, Languages, History, English and Careers. The tour begins in Barcelona, Spain where they visit the European School of Business for 3 days before spending 2 days exploring the city. Sightseeing in Barcelona includes La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park and a city tour visiting the main sites such as the Gothic Quarter, La Boqueria and Place de la Catalunya amongst others. They then depart for Limoges in France, which is famous for its decorated porcelain. Visits include the National Museum Adrien Dubouch as well as a Porcelain Factory tour. Their next stop is Ypres in Belgium where they have a full day tour including visits to the Flanders Field Museum, the Tyne Cot Cemetery and the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917 amongst others. The groups last stop in Europe is The Netherlands where they spend 2 nights in the bustling city of Amsterdam and visit 2 of the local universities as well as have free time to explore. They then catch a ferry to Harwich in England before transferring to Cranbrook where they spend 2 nights at the Swattenden Adventure Centre. Their final stop is London where they spend the last 2 nights of the tour. Apart from visiting UCL (University College London) and LSE (London School of Economics) they also enjoy visiting the main sights such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. The tour party consists of 25 students and 3 staff.
