Herschel Girls' School are sending two of their hockey teams on a tour to Germany and The Netherlands in March/April. The tour begins in Frankfurt, Germany, where the group spend the first 2 nights of their tour. They enjoy a walking tour of the city including a visit to Main Tower where they can enjoy the impressive view of Frankfurt's skyline. They then head to Dusseldorf where they have 2 training sessions with local German coaches as well as play the first 2 matches of the tour. The group also have a day trip to Cologne where they visit the Cologne Cathedral and climb Dom Tower. They then head to Soest in The Netherlands where they spend 2 nights and have a training session with local Dutch coaches as well as play another match. They will enjoy a bike tour around the beautiful town as well as visit Hockey Republic. Their next stop is Amsterdam where they spend 2 nights and play another match. Sightseeing here includes a visit to Efteling, a fantasy-themed amusement park as well as a visit to The Anne Frank House and a boat cruise through the canals of the city. The last stop on their tour is The Hague where they are accommodated for their final 2 nights. Here they play their final match as well as have their last training clinic with Dutch coaches. They will visit Zaanse Schans as well as get a chance to watch a Pro league match - Netherlands vs Australia ladies. The tour party consists of 34 girls and 4 staff members.


The Wykeham Collegiate from Pietermaritzburg will be travelling to Europe on a Business and Consumer Studies tour with 29 of their students and 3 accompanying staff. They will have the pleasure of visiting Paris, Belgium and The Netherlands. Sightseeing visits in these cities will include the Eiffel Tower, Disneyland, Montparnasse Tower, Kantcentrum, Canal cruises, De Koninck Brewery, MoMu Fashion Walk, Magere Brug, Zaanse Schans and more! For the Business and Consumer studies focus they will have a number of workshops, such as a Macaroon making workshop, a perfume workshop, cheese making demonstrations, wooden shoe factory demonstration, visit of the Aalsmeer flower auction amongst other great business visits. The group will depart King Shaka International Airport on on Friday, 20 March 2020 and fly via Dubai into Paris. On their return on Tuesday, 31 March they will depart Amsterdam and fly via Dubai back into Durban. 

Treverton college cricket tour to sri lanka

Treverton College will be embarking on a Cricket Tour to Sri Lanka. The group will spend 3 nights in Kandy and play 2 matches. The group will transfer to Colombo and then on to Ahangama where they will play 5 more matches and 1 includes a school side. Some of the sightseeing includes a visit to the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, City Tour of Colombo, a river boat safari and a visit to a turtle conservation. On the final night the group will have dinner at the famous Cricket Club Cafe in Colombo. The boys and staff are looking forward to this amazing tour!!


The Western Cape Invitational XI will be travelling to Sri Lanka on a cricket tour in March/April. Their tour begins in Kandy where they are accommodated at the Thilanka Hotel for 4 nights. The boys play their first 2 matches against local teams as well as enjoy some local sightseeing including Upper Lake District, Market Square, a Gem Lapidary and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. They then depart to Ahangama (South Of Galle) and the Kabalana Ahangama Hotel where they will be accommodated for 4 nights. En-route they will visit a local tea plantation as well as interact with some elephants at Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. They group will play their next 3 matches including one at the Foundation of Goodness grounds. They will also get a chance to visit the Galle Dutch Fort, which is a world heritage site, as well as a local turtle hatchery. The tour ends in Colombo where the group stay at the Berjaya Royal Hotel for their final 2 nights. They will play their final match as well as enjoy some local sightseeing and enjoy dinner at the very popular 'Cricket Club Cafe'. The group consists of 12 boys, 2 coaches and supporters.
